When we remember Zion

The Zion Wildlife Park in New Zealand is in receivership, & there is talk that some of the big cats there will have to be destroyed. It's a tremendous shame but to be honest from a conservationists viewpoint the place is a joke. Empasis was placed on breeding white lions & tigers & marketing them as rare subspecies when in fact they are really just colour variants, like tabby cats that would not survive in the wild. There are tales of cruelty within the park itself, with some of the cats having had their claws removed (imagine trying to function if someone had torn your fingernails out!) for safety reasons , the death of one of the keepers and the whole saga of Craig Busch himself, coming across as a seemingly folksy animal lover in the Lion Man TV series, but there seems to be a darker current there, with stories of wifebeating ,animal cruelty and a dysfunctional family running the park.

Small wonder the receivers won't deal with the current management of Zion, or with Busch either.I think when the truth comes out most wont remember Zion fondly.
