The start of the weekend

The weather is cold, as winter should be. No snow yet though.

Up at six fifteen, bacon sandwich for breakfast, no doubt filling me with cancer as the scientists would now have it, with Snowy on the scrounge again, then a puff of the pipe, topping me up with the old carcinogens, then on to work. Twenty species of gecko added to my zoology site before seven thirty & a quick dip into the news to see what is going on. France has been downgraded by Standard & Poor, as have many other Eurozone countries. Most analysts now seem to be advocating a Keynesian solution of increasing spending & investment to ride out the recession, seems like monetarism as beloved of Thatcher & her cronies is now lying as discredited as National Socialism & Communism as a philosophy.

Brings me on neatly to Neil Kinnock. The Welsh windbag & guardian of Labour's left wing heritage as he sees it,is singing the praises of Ed Milliband. Like anyone with any sense would trust Kinnock, he's so left wing he took a peerage & enjoyed the Brussls gravy train for years, just like his awful shrewish wife still does.

Personally I can't see the point of Ed Milliband. No charisma, no personality, a strictly metric politician. And no policies. If as Alexei Sayle has it about political leaders, that when you look back you always remembe the last one as being better than his predescessor then Gordon Brown looks like he's in for an image make over. It's almost like Labour have elected Beaker from the Muppet Show as leader, the animated adenoid Ed Milliband.
In the meantime Ed Balls must be chuckling & biding his time, as anyone with the chancellor's role must, rubbing his hands & thinking the top job will soon be his.
